Sustainability in Education with SWIFT 

The UK requires the education sector to play its part in positively responding to climate change.

This intention to support the drive to achieve net zero through skills and decarbonisation will help to play a significant part in nature’s recovery, build an education system resilient to climate change, and provide the truth and hope that young people need to flourish in our changing world.

Advancing our sustainable Golden Thread programmes and training events is crucial to our mission.
We seek to nurture an awareness of sustainability in our programmes that supports the understanding and work in schools and Multi Academy Trusts on environmental issues.
 
We commit to enhancing our waste reduction efforts by continuously improving our digital documentation processes to minimise paper use and to print resources only when necessary.
 
We commit to providing online sessions to further reduce travel and associated carbon emissions and local training wherever practicable.
 
By our commitment to sustainability, and in working with our various Partners, SWIFT seeks to lead by example and to inspire the school leaders, teachers, staff, and pupils within our Teaching School Hub area to champion sustainability.
