South West Institute for Teaching is a partnership based on two Teaching School Hubs, schools and Multi Academy Trusts, former Teaching School Alliances, ITT providers, Curriculum and Specialist Hubs and Research Schools. We also partner with national and regional partners, including Leading Schools South West, the National Institute of Teaching and Teach First.
This partnership approach has a multiplier effect, enabling us to be more than the sum of our parts and this principle is reflected in the stylised more than > symbol in our SWIFT logo.
Partners
SWIFT works in partnership with a range of organisations as key strategic partners who ensure that we meet the needs of all schools in all parts of our Teaching School Hub areas.
As set out in our Core Values, we are collaborative and build mutually supportive partnerships. Over time we have developed a more mature partnership model which is illustrated on the timeline below.

Jon Eaton Director of Kingdbridge Research School
It's great to see that Swift's commitment to careful and sustained implementation informs planning at all levels of the organisation, from its mission statement to the clear guidance it gives to those designing professional development via the Swift 8.
Chris Barnett Training School Lead
Being a partner of SWIFT has further strengthened our relationship with other Training Schools and MATs in the area.
There is a real sense of teamwork between all colleagues and as a partner, it has been fantastic to be a part of such a positive collaboration that continues to develop and grow whilst maintaining a set of clear visions and values to improve educational outcomes for all children and young people.
